Despite a rainy, wet and cold camping trip, our family loved Guanella Pass Campground. We had spot 9, which was close enough to the parking that hauling things back to the car at night was not a pain, but was far enough away that car noise was not an issue. The sounds of the river put us to sleep each night and we woke to birdsong in the morning. No bear lockers, but again, you are close enough to your car to keep food safe. The fire ring and tent pad were clean and well-maintained.

Camp sites have no privacy. Ground is very hard, and is difficult to setup tent spikes in.

That being said, campground is well maintained, has very clean bathrooms and has large fire pits, grills and picnic benches.

Overall, the campground was great. The vault was exceptionally clean and the campground was really pretty. The only negative was the folks in the nearby tent-only spaces walked back and forth from their cars constantly and the parking area was right next to us, So, our space (#8) wasn't very private. Next time, I'd try to get a space further up the hill.
