What Guests Are Saying
Echo Lake offers beautiful views and well-maintained hiking trails, making it a lovely area for outdoor enthusiasts. Many guests appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the attentiveness of the campground staff. However, some found the campsite spacing too close and faced challenges with signage and navigation to the campground. Overall, it's a pleasant spot for camping, especially for those seeking nature and hiking opportunities.

Loved the spot. There were beautiful views at the entrance of the campground and gorgeous hiking trails nearby as well. Would recommend anyone to check out.

We could not find the campground! There was no signage anywhere! Not on the main Hwy I-70 or any of the smaller roads leading toward Echo Lake, we finally say a small sign that mentioned Echo Lake took it. But even this road, although it did get us to Echo Lake it never stated where the campground was located. There was no one to talk to or get directions as to how to get to the campground. We found the lake and a picnic area, by pure accident, but we never located the campground.
This is a pathetic way to direct (which actually there was NO direction) people who are not familiar with this area. No signs, no one to help out....nothing. We finally gave up and went to the KOA off of Hwy I-70. So we basically paid for TWO different locations because we could not find this campground. PATHETIC!

We loved this area. Campsites were very close together though. Kinda felt like camping with neighbors. Still was very pretty and a great area to explore

My family and I had a lovely stay at spot #3. The bathrooms were very close and very clean. The campground attendants were very nice and came around twice a day to clean the bathrooms and had fireworks available for sale. The only downfall to our spot, was it was right on a walking trail that seemed quite popular. That being said, the walking trail is very nice and the trail around the lake is also within walking distance.

The tent sites are very close together and you will be on top of your neighbors. The tent area is a little small and can only fit 4 person tent( you will need to level extra ground for a larger tent.

Camp host was very kind and attentive, coming by at least 2 times per day. Bathrooms very very clean. Lovely campground all around with very close proximity to hiking and echo lake. Only complaint was how close together most sites are, but not that big of a deal. I have ATNT and could sometimes load a text, very spotty. Perfect campsites for hammocking too!

This is a quiet, clean, and pleasant campground. Since the Mt Blue Sky (Evans) road is closed this summer, it may have more traffic when that road is open. We hiked to the Chicago Lakes in a long day. The walk around Echo Lake was lovely in the evening.

Tracy (our host from the campground down the road) was very kind and helpful- she exemplifies all that a forest service employ can be!

This is one of two adjacent sites great for a group group camping together. We used both for our group. The sites were clean and nicely shaded. Great trail access and about the perfect distance from vault toilets. Just don’t leave food out too long -gray jays abound (and adorable).
