First time staying in this campground. We arrived early but the site was still occupied. They stayed a while past checkout time. We set up a tent on electric site 032 MCCO. The electric is set up for camping units, not tents. We had to stretch an extension cord across the drive up to the tent pad area. Fortunately, we carry a long one with us. The area is very clean and well maintained. There are plenty of pit toliets nearby and they are not extremely smelly. The shower house is just that, No restrooms. Plenty of shade trees, deer and chipmunks around. Beautiful area! We stayed in July and didn't see much wildlife on our evening drives. We visited late May 2017 and saw a lot of wildlife. Either the heat or the wildfires in recent years has affected the sightings. We will definetly be back.

The campground is nice & the hosts are wonderful. However, the bridge access (only access) damaged our truck to the tune of $6400. The insurance company for the campground refused to take responsibility for the damages. We are now out the money for repairs. The campground host even tried to repair said bridge. Bad access is a safety concern.

Site 28 was great for our camping trailer, good distances between sites in that section. Site hosts very friendly. Campground and facilities are clean. It was quiet. Have to do Mount McConnel hike, trail head there at the campground. We would go back.

Maybe all campgrounds are like this but it was my first time with a pop up and you are surrounded by neighbors. My one neighbor was smoking cigars and had a group of people making noise all night so it was pretty irritating. You are kind of far from the River which is extremely beautiful but there really is no path along the river. The shower facilities were extremely clean and convenient and the bathrooms although they were out houses were pretty clean.
