Mountain park has alway been our go to for camping :) Our experience this time was ok, but not the same as it used to be. We were greeted graciously by the host:) Love the bear proof containers, however they had reminisce of previous visitors left inside. The camping perimeter used to be well kept, raked and cleaned. This time definitely not groomed or cleaned. The fire pit was more than half full, which is surprising considering the fire danger. There were piles of toilet paper through out the outside perimeters of the site, obvious toilet spots, along with various pieces of trash and cans. Bathrooms were clean :) however the host proceeded to run an obnoxious power washer, literally noticed it around 2:30 till I asked him to please stop, washing the shower side walks, at dusk 7:00 pm. (we were in site 3) We can appreciate his devotion to cleanliness there, but not at our paid expense of 4 1/2+ hours of continuous noise. So, yes, we were sadly a bit disappointed with our recent visit.

We loved the peaceful atmosphere, the walking paths along the river, and the space between the campsites. There is a nice hike loop and map near the entrance to the campground.

No water hookup for rv’s. They claim it is to prevent cross connections. A cross connection device would solve that problem. No very expensive to make it so you don’t have to buy water in Rustic RV Park for $.75 a gallon! We were there four days and the bathrooms were never cleaned. No fly strips so the flies were bad in the outhouse. Only thing the host did was replace the toilet paper.

Our fire pit was full of trash and cans when we arrived to site 14. Tried to find camp host and didn’t see them until the morning we were leaving. We took all the trash out and logs that were 1/2 burned and finally had our own fire. Restrooms were cleaned once in the three days and two nights we were there. Smelled very bad. Learn from Lake Dowdy hosts please.

This is a great campground!
Great space for our 28’ travel trailer .
Peaceful and quiet! The weather was wonderful, even in late July!
No signal for AT&T, even down the road at Rustic, CO.

Mountain Park is one of my favorite campgrounds. Forested and quiet with ample size sites. Located well to swimming, rafting, hiking, and other outdoor activities. A nice respite without a prohibitive drive.

We had an amazing time and this place is awesome. Great location on the river with plenty of places to get in and play for the day. The sites are well-maintained. The hosts are kind and welcoming and everything is very clean. The showers were great!
