I was blown away by the accomadating, friendly camp hosts..I showed up at the site I reserved then moved to a different site the next day and the hosts informed me there were several FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites available nearby and showed me ...I ended up extending my stay and extra 3 days and loved everything about this camp ground...I could see both sides of the mountains clearly, people were friendly yet private, it was quiet( yet full) and conveniently located close to a grocery store and portable coffee shop!!! Wow the best of both worlds... Beth Amen

Loved our stay at Westlake. It a beautiful area and great campground. The only drawback is that there is no rv dump anywhere in area. The pit toilets were kept very clean as they cleaned them 3 times a day. There is a trail that connects Westlake to Dowdy so you can spend time on Dowdy also. The hosts were excellent. We camped in a 35 foot motorhome.

Beautiful, pristine camp grounds in an exquisite setting! Camp hosts are friendly and safety minded. At one point, they walked over to be sure we understood dangers associate with lightning.
Thank you!

We had a great time at West Lake like we do every year. Sharon is the best camp host around and sorry to hear that she is retiring after this season. The down side is that this campground needs to have some roadwork done. We had a lot of rain while we were there and because of the lack of roadwork/drainage, water and mud ran all over the concrete areas leading to the bathrooms and some sites had standing water. The road from the main paved road is getting so narrow because of the water damage/washout, that it is very hard to get 2 vehicles pulling trailers into the camp spots. This road was like this in 2020 and nothing has been done this year and it just keeps getting worse. Dowdy seems to be getting all the attention when it comes to any roadwork being done.
