Lovely spot on the lake. Overall very quiet, even though the campground was full. Had some traffic noise from the highway. The campsite was clean and well maintained. They were some of the cleanest vault toilets we’ve seen over our years camping at state parks.

Great camping spot with very friendly camp hosts. Each campsite was nicely spaced out and they all had a view of the lake. Awesome hiking and fishing. The bathrooms were a little rough, but overall usable.

West Lake is a very nice and relaxing campground. The lake was a little low from the lack of rain. It also was somewhat algae like. We went over to the next door lake Dowdy. Dowdy was a larger lake and much more clear water. The campground was easy to get to. We had a great time but the only negative was that the lakes are no swimming. Paddle boarding was ok as well as kayaking but no swimming. I didn’t understand that because if you fall off the paddle board you would be swimming.

We have utilize the campsites many times throughout the years a little disappointed that we couldn’t have a campfire, but very understandable with fire danger this summer. Very disappointed in the fishing due to the low water levels and warm water but had a great time camping. Looking forward to next fishing and camping trip when the fishing is great..
