Very clean bathrooms, always well stocked and generally free of odors and bugs. Thanks, hosts! Generous separation of campsites. Good windbreak for wind off lake at Site 10. Dowdy is a better recreation lake, but West is superior for chilling. We LOVE the belt of natural landscape between campsites and lake shore with its mix of grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, and baby pines, so easy on the eyes! Fishing has been lackluster during our visits, but warm summertime water temps are probably mostly to blame. Good fishing a short drive away at the only natural Red Feather lake; do your research.

In May, stayed in site 26. That is a good site. However, it snowed for 4 days. Still enjoyed it tho. Site #29, we had issues with the electrical. Site 23, is not for handicapped. I fell on the stairs and almost hit my head on the rv. A railing needs to be on the stairs. Had a beautiful view, a crane was visiting the lake, eagles chased our dog, and a mule deer ran on the other side of the picnic table one evening. Hosts were so nice, helpful, and maintained the sites and bathrooms very well. We love it up there!

I love Westlake and Dowdy and the Camp host Nikki is always excellent, I wanted to stay longer and she helped me find another spot. The place is always clean and the bathrooms are excellent and the Campos are always available, highly recommend Westlake, although I love it and it’s hard to get into.

From Fort Collins, take Highway 287 north approximately 24 mi to Livermore. Turn west on County Road 74 and continue 24 mi to the campground.

West Lake is accessible via Highway 287, which is approximately 24 miles to the east in Livermore.
Policies & Rules
General
- Drinking water is available until Sept. 30 each year. Sewer and water hookups are not available. Come with your RV/trailer water tank filled. Filling at campground hydrants cross-contaminates the system and is not allowed.
- This is bear country! For bear and human safety, keep a clean campsite and do not place food or other attractants in your tent. For more information about visiting bear country, contact Colorado Parks and Wildlife at http://wildlife.state.co.us
- Boating is restricted to small watercraft, powered by hand, wind or electric motors
- Off-road vehicles are prohibited within the campground

- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- All campsites must be occupied within 26 hours of the beginning of the reservation. If not present the site will be rented by first come first serve basis.
- EXTRA VEHICLE FEES: One vehicle is included in your reservation. Any additional vehicles will be charged $8.00 per vehicle per night and will be collected by the camphost. There is not a way to pay for extra vehicles when you make your reservation. One vehicle consists of one camper being towed by vehicle, or any other vehicle towed behind camper. One van or one truck with camper attached counts as one vehicle.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Tents must fit on the pads provided. RVs, trailers or other vehicles must fit on the parking spur. Driving or parking off road is not permitted. The parking length ranges from 35 to 80 feet.
- Modifications for this campground must be made through Recreation.gov PRIOR to your reservation start date. Customers and contact center agents cannot modify reservations on or after the check-in date.
