The campground is nice with plenty of space between the sites. Our site was level & didn't even need the orange blocks. The views are beautiful and the lake is small but great for a relaxing paddle around the water. What isn't great is the other campers who don't bother to leash their dogs. There is the rule that dogs have to be on a 6 foot leash but nobody enforces it. The camp host does nothing. After the dog next to my campsite charged me after I came out of our RV and I mentioned this to the camp host the next day, he told me that for anything to be done, your dog or yourself has to be hurt. This has become a more increasing problem over the last few years and it is time that the national and state parks start following what private campgrounds do. Allowing people to do whatever they want, and not following the dog leash laws, ruins the whole camping experience.

While we were there the Pearl Fire was happening and our hosts kept everyone informed with the latest information. The campground is well maintained and the facilities are clean. Some camp spots could use erosion mitigation and gravel to help with the dust.

Beautiful site overlooking the lake. Good distance between camp sites. Quiet. Clean restrooms. Easy to park. Lived in the area many years but never used the campground before (West Lake).

Wonderful campground. Very clean and the views are amazing. Enjoyed walking the trails and paddle boarding on the lake. Although website said electricity at site was 15 amp, it actually was a 30 amp. Highly recommend!

I was surprised to find out this was a double site when we arrived. There is nothing on the site reservation or confirmation that tells us this. It would have been great to know ahead of time because we met my parents up there and we told our kids they couldn't come because we couldn't have another car. That was incorrect and they missed out on the first night. Your reservation system should tell people they're getting a double site and that more vehicles are allowed. This was really disappointing. Also, the campfire ring was not cleaned prior to our arrival. 2pm is a very late check in time and given there were 2 hours to clean, it's surprising it wasn't done. In walking around the campground there were several fire pits that still had ashes in vacant sites.
