Dowdy Lake

Beautiful campground. Spots are easily accessible. Quiet, campground is always clean.

Dowdy lake was the lowest I have ever seen. There was some fish activity but not like in the past.

Everything was nice and clean, the hosts were great, and the lake was beautiful if not really low. My only complain is the extra car fees at the group sites. Being able to only have 2 cars at a large group site is unreasonable. Specially when the vehicles pulling the trailers count. That means you have to have 8 people per car to not have the extra fee. And the sites are large enough to easily fit at least 4 extra cars. It would be great to remove this extra fee completely or increase it to 4-6 cars for a group site, at least 2 for single sites. Most of the sites can easily fit these extra cars. I understand having to pay for cars that do not fit, but having to pay extra, even at an expensive campsite when they fit just fine is to much. We come to Dowdy every year . Very nice campgrounds. The host Matt is very nice and welcoming. Bathrooms are kept very clean . Red Feather is close by in case you need any supplies and there are also restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking !

Dowdy Lake is one of my favorite destinations. And only 1 1/2 hours from home. The campsites are clean, accessible, and most have plenty of shade. The lake views are amazing. And though the water level was down, there was plenty for kayaking and fishing. I was happy to hear that the fire bans had been lifted prior to my trip. Bathrooms and dumpsters were well managed. I almost don't want to talk it up too much, might make it harder to get a reservation.

Very well maintained campground. Nice pretty lake for fishing, canoeing, paddle boarding, ect.

Dowdy Lake is our favorite campground. The camp hosts are always helpful. The only negative is the Recreation. Gov website needs to coordinate better with the campground, as there are often open sites and the websites says they are booked.

Nice view of lake from this site and plenty of trees in this campground. This particular site is close to the outhouse that is across the dirt road. You could occasionally smell it which wasn't too pleasant. Thus, as much as I liked this site I am not sure if I would book it again.

Was a beautiful few days here clear blue-sky temp was perfect both day and night fire ban was lifted campfire going almost all day long. Only bad thing so many sites showing reserved both on website and at dowdy NO-ONE there. something has to be done about that. Person should be charged full price if canceling. Not just 10 bucks

Dowdy is our favorite, we love, love, love it.
