The campground host are always super helpful.
The pit toilets are clean & well stocked with toilet paper, but do seem to need to be pumped more often or something to help with the smell.

Fantastic campground. Large sites on a beautiful lake. Camp hosts keep grounds and pit toilets nice and clean.

We always enjoy glamping at Dowdy Lake. The restrooms there are the cleanest of all the places we camp at !

Weather was cool and such a relief from the heat. Campground was very quiet in the mornings and evenings. Will return next year.

Dowdy Lake campground is wonderful, especially if you can get a tent site with a lake view. Spectacular! Even though the lake is low, it is still great for kayaking/paddleboarding and very quiet.

We love Dowdy Lake. It was very interesting to have the water so low, as we could walk to rocks we would normally not have been able to climb on. I do wish there was a way we could have been notified that the boat dock was closed. Also, the camp host was wonderfully helpful and delightful to be around.

Beautiful area but a busy campground. Reservation system was perfect and the host helped with the possibility of grabbing another night.
Electric hookup was helpful during the warm days. Definitely worth a return visit!

Getting There
From Fort Collins, take Highway 287 north for approximately 24 mi to Livermore. Turn west on County Road 74 and continue about 23 mi to Dowdy Lake Road. Turn right, then another right onto Dowdy Drive and continue to the campground.

Dowdy Lake is accessed via Highway 287, which is approximately 24 miles from Fort Collins. From Highway 287, the route continues on County Road 74 for about 23 miles before reaching Dowdy Lake Road.
