Great Sand Dunes Oasis offers stunning views, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a wonderful place for visitors. The cabins and RV sites are well-located, and the rental options for sand sleds and boards add to the fun. However, after hours, there are concerns about security and rule enforcement in the campgrounds, and some amenities like water access could be improved.

We had a wonderful time at Great Sand Dunes Oasis! We stayed in the cabins, which had incredible views of the Great Sand Dunes. Clean bathrooms, hot showers and incredibly friendly staff. We also rented sand sleds from the shop, which were a lot of fun and very affordable. They also have a full-service restaurant. Would highly recommend if you are planning a trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park!

The RV sites, especially the end ones have a great view of the Dunes as long as you look past the power poles.
Dog friendliness: There is a fair amount of space to walk your dog but when you get close to the edges of the gravel area expect your dogs to pick up more than a few thorns and the area at the end has a sign with a warning for people and the need for thick soled shoes. No dogs are allowed on the decks of the store or bath house (there were a couple of very friendly cats we saw in the morning so that may be the reason). There is not an enclosed dog area. As long as you stay in the middle of the RV area or middle of the road, your dogs should be fine.
The check in was fine. They were training new help so took a little longer but fine. The restaurant hours are 8- 4 and the store 8-5. If you need to eat, get there early.
The park was nice overall. There is a fair amount of trash which I am sure simply gets blown out of the trash bin and spread by the wind. The water was not available and we were not told before arriving. We had to fill from the side of the store and use a couple hoses to reach our rig. No credit was offered. We camped at Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campgrounds has lots of potential and amazing views.
Unfortunately after 5pm the entire complex was abandoned with zero supervision. People were making wood fires despite a fire ban and being loud past the posted quiet hours.
Nobody was present to enforce rules from unruly campers. We failed to find anybody with authority to talk to about guests egregiously breaking the campground rules.
What is the point of a security shack if it’s abandoned after 5pm? There’s not even a campground emergency number…
That means general public can enter the campgrounds, I see this as a security risk, for theft, trespassing. Campsites are not assigned, without proper security, your neighbor may not actually be registered, and nobody will enforce it!

I rented a sand board from oasis. It was a blast! But I would highly recommend anyone get the sled over the sandboard. I quickly turn my sand board into a sled after attempting two or three times.
I’m an experience snowboarder, but the boards they have to offer our kids sized with a ton of gashes and core shots.

Super happy with this campsite! Did last minute trip Labor Day weekend. Staff were friendly on the phone when I called ahead, saying it's first come first serve.
Perfect camp site available for good price with fire ring and plenty of space for a car and tent without feeling squished. Spaced out from other campers but I still felt safe knowing other people would be around if there was an emergency.
5-10 min drive from the dunes and amazing view of the sunset on them.
Restaurant was pretty good and super convenient. Store has anything you could need that you forgot at home, including lighters, sawdust bricks, and firewood.
Highly recommend!
