Nice campground set in junipers. Clean bathrooms. Enjoyed 8:40 pm Ranger talk on moths. Not a lot to do. Definitely a one day or half day visit.

When we were there, ice was not being sold in the park so plan ahead. It is available at the campground just outside the park but they do run out at times. There are outdoor shower spigots near the dunes parking lot which are helpful for rinsing if you stay several days. The dunes were busier on weekends but not as crowded during the week.

The restrooms had were absent of paper towels and/or blow driers to help dry hands after washing them. Lighting over sinks was also poor.

The sites are pretty close together, but the views make up for that. Very cool spot.

The campground and camp site were well maintained, and there was adequate shade at my site.

The spot we had was wonderful with a beautiful view of the dunes a little bit of cell service and just close enough to the restrooms. It was a little more private with trees surrounding. One of our favorite sites!

Ugh! The lights at the campground are way too bright -- in particular the lights that stay on late into the night at the campground bathrooms. Please turn off or at least reduce the brightness of the campground lighting. Also, campers should be required to be quiet. That used to be the norm. We heard loud conversations at all times of day -- yapping and yammering, way more than you want to hear when camping. It's an example of how campers seem to have lost their etiquette. Other examples at this campground: turning on vehicles repeatedly during the early and late hours, blaring headlights, beeping sounds, disturbing the peace for other campers. I watched one young couple driver in their Subaru a hundred yards or so from their campsite to the bathroom in the morning. And, increasingly, campers bring dogs to the campgrounds. The dogs often bark. At this national park and campground, because of the tight space and native wildlife that is sensitive to noise, bringing along city pets should be prohibited. When dogs are around, we don't see the deer. Please consider making these changes -- reducing light, reducing noise, reducing city dogs -- as soon as possible. And please set about restoring the flow of water in Medano Creek, tackling that diversion for agriculture in the adjacent valley, because diverting the water out of the creek is hurting the national park and preserve.

Excellent campsite with nice, clean facilities. Our site location was great; however, given the location of the cement firepit, it's hard to fit 2 larger tents.
