What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Camp host, Nancy was amazing. So friendly and helpful. Campground was so clean and the views were beautiful! I wish I could have stayed longer but it was all booked up for the weekend

Nice campground with lots of trees to block the wind. I was in a handicap site and there’s no way someone in a wheelchair could use that site, #14. No access to the bathroom if you are in a wheelchair. It really needs to be accessible.

In Fort Garland at the corner of the gas station there is a road 159? and it leads to San Luis, the oldest town in CO.
In the center of the small town across the cafe is a 1/2 mile trail that leads to an adobe church. Along the way are life size bronze statues depicting the crucification of Christ.

Great site not bunch next to others. Slight decline on tent pad and drive way but nothing too bad. Good view of the top of the sand dunes.

Sites were small and closely spaced. The fire ring in ours was rusted out at the bottom; needed to be replaced to provide better containment of the fire. Tent pads were sloped. Restrooms were very clean. Other campers were polite and quiet. Cost was very reasonable.

Nice site, unfortunately the website indicated that there was water available for RVs but not to be. There were working water points in the campground and the workaround wasn't terrible for a great park, nice park rangers and campground host, beautiful views and a memorable experience.
