Excellent for exploring Ouray and surrounding areas. This is bear country so keep all food items inside your vehicle. We saw several campers with coolers left out at night.

Staff was very nice and informative. Some of the bathrooms needed to be updated but those that worked were kept clean. It was crowded but no one was out of line. The location is great as is the town and the loop hike is not to be missed. the public hot springs are so great.

Perhaps the most beautiful campsite I've ever experienced. Broad overlook of Ouray. Well kept and secluded.

We loved this camp ground. Biggest thing to note the roads inside it are narrow and steep, you really can’t take large campers and vehicles here.! We have an old pop up trailer tent and small truck and there were some sites that wouldn’t have been accessible to us. Read the site descriptions carefully! A lot of the sites are close together, when we stayed July 2019 for a week all the campers were considerate and it wasn’t an issue. This ground is popular and was full every night. Book 6 months out if you want to stay here. If this camp ground is accessible to you it’s worth the trip. The 2019 host was friendly, the sites were well maintained and the restrooms clean and stocked with loo roll! The views from our site 6 were beautiful, we had visits from deer and chipmunks. This is bear country but thankfully we didn’t see any of them. We loved that this ground feels like you are out of town but that town is easily accessible. There are multiple hiking trails, 4 wheel trails and the hot springs close. We will be back!
