Ohaver Lake

No masks , no social distancing, a bit too crowded and more than a few rude people. Campground was clean and restrooms were clean as well. We have been coming here for years and this was as crowded as a holiday weekend, other than that we'll be back again, hopefully when it's not as crowded.....

Very family friendly site. Make sure to take the time to walk around the lake.

This is a beautiful place to camp and I would give it a 5, except the campground hosts are unfriendly people. We are in our 50's and very mature, respectful and responsible people. I own a customer service training and customer experience consulting business! One of our friends is an eye doctor. Another friend is a business owner of a successful business. We don't break the rules. We were there with 3 other families and we all felt as though the hosts were selective in who they harassed. They seem to not be customer-oriented in any way. Rules state quiet hours, yet near our campsite one night a party ensued until 2 a.m. The hosts did nothing. Signs state no hammock or hanging of things from trees. Again that rule was not enforced. We had a hammock, but never hung it, only to see others hanging things from trees. No one ever welcomed us to our campsite, instead we felt harassed. One time the male host came asking if we were dumping our camper black water in the outhouse. We had not, nor would we ever even think of such a thing. It was asked in such an accusatory manner. I have many more examples, but don't have time or space here to go into it all. You need to consider either getting these hosts some training, or getting new hosts. Most mature campers are not bad people. We were insulted by these hosts and are considering not coming again. We have come here for nearly the last 15 years. These hosts have never been nice, but this is the first time we have complained. You cannot assume all campers are rule breakers. Only a few are and deal with them when they do break the rules, otherwise be nice to those of us who follow the rules. Maybe that is the plan - to have nasty hosts, so that the demand for this beautiful place dies down. This place is so beautiful, it should be one of the most coveted campgrounds for hosts who have the best customer service skills. It should be a privilege to host here. We may just camp on the surrounding forest service roads from now on.

Beautiful campground and breathtaking scenery. The lake is great for fishing, but becoming overrun with paddle boarding and other boating.

Site 15. Lovely campground. Really nice tent pad -- level, smooth, easy to set up large (10x17) tent. Clean vault toilets (though aging a bit). Nice camp hosts with firewood for sale. Potable water taps. We thought site 12 was probably the best at the campground. Site 18-20 right on the lake are great, too, and perfect for a group. The road up to the camp is a bit windy and uphill, but those in RVs or pulling trailers seemed to manage it. Definitely would return.
