What Guests Are Saying
Dumont Campground is praised for its stunning scenery, excellent hiking, and proximity to Dumont Lake, making it ideal for outdoor activities like paddleboarding and biking. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers large, private sites, although some are not level and may require leveling blocks. While there are challenges such as a lack of drinking water and significant mosquito presence, the overall atmosphere and beautiful wildflowers contribute to a positive camping experience.

Loved the campground. Our spot was rather hard to get into as it had rocks that prevented us to driving anywhere near the picnic table and barely enough room to pull in. I believe our spot was number 12. Otherwise, everything else was great. Beautiful view.

Basic pit toilet, and no water to wash hands near toilets. Central hand pump for water. Lake 1/4 mi. away is nice.

Wonderful scenery and hiking trails. Campsites were roomy and well separated. There was only one potable water pump working.

One of my favorite campgrounds. Wildflowers were spectacular and just nice views. Fishing was good before the wind came. One of the two water pumps was broken so it made getting water a hassle is you’re camped toward the lake.

Reservation system is poor. We waited many weeks for the campground to open and checked daily. By the time it opened, most of the dates were full. Everything in the Rockies seems to be booked but we found many open unfilled sites at many campgrounds when we managed to get in. Don't know the answer - it was just difficult to make things work this summer.

I went for the first time with two others. There was plenty of room, easy access to trails, the bathroom was clean, and the water pump functional. I will stay there again.

A beautiful setting. Quite picturesque. Quiet, with no generators running at all! We would go back again in a heartbeat.
