Great campsites in a secluded location. I’m sure it’s busier during weekends. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This campground is surrounded by trails, including the Rainbow. The camp ground host Steve is very friendly and keeps the campground in great shape. There are three creeks in the area, towering pine trees with very little beetle kill. It is a dirt road leading into the campground if you go slow it is not an issue for RV’s. Also you frequently see deer as you get close. Westcliffe is nearby with the Sugar and Spice Amish bakery on Main Street which has melt in your mouth everything! They do not take credit cards so bring cash. They run out if you wait too late in the day!

This campground is excellent, and exceptionally clean and well maintained. There are some great views to be had of the valley from higher spots. Fantastic hiking trails starting right at the campground - checkout alltrails. Camp host is fantastic and super nice. I would suggest bringing firewood from town, as there was none available early in the season. Our site and the one adjacent are rather strange - there was not really any tent pad. Look closely at the different sites - we would have had to put a tent down right next to the car in our site if we hadn't been in our roof tent. Constant breeze often turned into high gusts at some points, right on the side of a mountain so that's to be expected. Recommended stay!
