Access to Rainbow Trail both directions for atving. Beautiful location, nicely laid out, clean.

Clean, peaceful, and private. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Site #34 fit my 21 ft trailer. Great experience!

Park host was great!
We had equestrian sites 2 and 3 and was perfect since we were together. They may be too close if you’re not together. The two pens were a nice size (we had 2 horses in one), however the walk to the pens is rocky and steep.
That’s the only complaint at all. The proximity to trails was perfect and provided days of riding right from camp.

The campground is very well maintained and very quiet. The camp host is knowledgeable and friendly keeping the place in great shape.

We went to Alvarado for horse camping. Nice facility, clean bathrooms. Water to horses is a good distance, so prepare for that.
Enjoyed our time as the camp hosts were very nice and helpful

Had a fantastic stay; site 41 was the best! We were on the upper road so it was very quiet. The Camp Hosts were friendly and flexible; I had reserved 38 but it did not have a flat place for a tent, so they let us move to an open site with no issues. The hiking trailhead was RIGHT THERE, so short walk from the campsite to hike. Would go back again?

**UPDATED REVIEW** The weather was perfect! No wind this time around. The campground hosts are amazing! Very much enjoyed talking with them. I was their 1 start from a few years ago. The campground is terrific, the bathrooms spotless. It's a fantastic place to come hang out. I couldn't recommend it more. Come and stay, enjoy their hospitality. 10 Star rating!

From Westcliffe, CO, take State Route 69 south 3 mi to the campground sign (County Road 140). Turn right and go 1.8 mi to the stop sign. Continue straight through the stop sign for 2.8 mi until you hit another stop sign (RD 141). Turn left onto RD...
From Westcliffe, CO, take State Route 69 south 3 mi to the campground sign (County Road 140). Turn right and go 1.8 mi to the stop sign. Continue straight through the stop sign for 2.8 mi until you hit another stop sign (RD 141). Turn left onto RD 141 and continue 2.1 mi to campground.
(Note: RD 141 becomes dirt/gravel after 0.4 mi.)

- Campground limits: 8 people per site, with options for 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 RV.

- Only certified weed-free hay is allowed at the campground.

- Electric hookups are not provided at this campground.
- Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Do not transport firewood; purchase it locally and burn it on-site to protect trees.
