Three campers in entire campground with the lack of ability to reserve after the state closed for Covid-19... weird and uncomfortable... hope this changes next year .... hosts were excellent!

The campground was mostly empty because of covid 19. I love this campground but the 9pm locking of the gate may force me to change my plans for next year. I typically camp alone, and pull a camper from Florida to Connecticut so I can stay near my son in Putnam, CT. This year for the second year in a row the entrance gates closed at 9pm which means I either have to be inside the gates or would have to walk in the dark to my campsite. This early closing severely restricts my visits with my family. I am sincerely hoping that the gate closing time reverts to the 10pm it was for many years or I will have to consider camping somewhere else.

This campground is meticulously maintained and had two knowledgeable and friendly campground host couples when we visited. The sites are huge and are very well spaced apart with two sites worth of woods between each one in most cases. The park is quiet and the tent campers are on the other side of the loop from the RVs. The trails to the lake are intermediate to navigate though easy to find your way down to the water. Nice boat ramp if that's your thing. Simple camping here - no activities or rentals though they do have nice firewood at a very fair price that they will deliver to your site.
I would highly recommend this park and we are looking forward to returning!

A very nice, quiet and wooded campground. Hosts were awesome. The trails were great and the lake was beautiful and quiet. Out in the country, but close to town for shopping. Loved it!

We have camped here a couple of times a year over the last 3 years. our last visit, however, will probably be our last ever. We found evidence of IV drug use in the parking area at the boat launch on 9/5. My son's kayak was stolen on 9/6. We gave our information to the park rangers but they were not very interested and never contacted us about it again. Very disappointing. I hope there's a better security in the future.

A quiet peaceful place out of the way with plenty of fishing and hiking nearby. No activities but that's OK for stress free stay.
