Very well maintained and appointed. The sewer hookup is impressive with stainless well underneath to keep the area clean. We have deffinately scheduled to go back!

This campground is a gem! The sites are placed that allow maximum privacy. The grounds and bath houses are kept in top condition. The individuals that greet you as you enter are super friendly. The location makes it very easy to travel to kayaking, restaurants, and the beach. I highly recommend Salt Springs Recreation Area for your central Florida stay.

This is one of our favorite campsites in Florida. We camp here twice a year for a week at a time. Sites and access roads are paved with asphalt. Camp hosts are friendly and helpful. Check-in is swiftly completed. Easy walk to Salt Spring, clear water and great to swim in, constant 74-degree water temperature. Hiking trails are nearby in the Ocala National Forrest. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. Sites are shaded and not on top of each other.

We used site 49 with our 33' Class A and toad. Rear of pad is about 2" higher than front so leveling was needed but easy enough to do. Very clean fhp site and some shade. Good cell signal with ATT and T-Mobile.

Noisy. Campground filled with smoky fires. Spot lights set up at night for volleyball play. People walking through my campsite to reach the restroom non stop. I was not comfortable sitting outside. The road to the boat launch was horrendous. No close trails to hike. Disappointed finding that in national forest.

Salt Springs is an AWESOME location. We enjoyed the primitive camping area for 4 days. Nice quiet campground with lots of things to do. Really like the boat ramp amenity which provides access to Salt Springs Run to Lake George. Have been camping here for 12 years, GREAT place.

Terrible experience! The camp ground location is horribly designed; we could hear traffic every night all night. We could also see dollar general from our camp site, not what one would expect going to a national forest. We also wanted to do trails while we there. The map the front office gave us was very out of date!! We drove to over 8 tr ails and many were so over grown that the trail was practically nonexistent; definitely lack of maintenance and not hurricane related!
The camp staff were also unpleasant. We rnded up leaving a day early. Overall we will never go there again and I would never recommend it to anyone!
