What Guests Are Saying
Midway Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment with clean facilities and friendly hosts, making it an ideal stop for exploring the Everglades and Big Cypress areas. Campers appreciate the privacy of the spacious sites, easy access to hiking trails, and the campground's cleanliness. However, there are some limitations, including a lack of showers and minimal cell service, as well as a need for better signage to ensure safety and compliance with campground rules.

Most mosquitoes I have ever seen in one place! We used this as a quick stop for the night when passing through on a July trip to the FL Keys. Arrived about 9 pm and left by 7 am. We are no strangers to buggy camping, but this one wins the award for buggiest! My husband had to spend 10 mins outside getting camper hooked up and they were literally clogging his nostrils. It was fine for a quick sleep stop, but I wouldn't recommend if you wanted to spend any time outside. The drive in and out on the Tamiami trail was nice and the campground and site itself were nice and level.

The spot was great. Concrete pad to park on, 50 Amp hook up, picnic table and a beautiful view of the water. I'm not sure what the rest of the year is like but the MOSQUITOS were horrid. We were only there for the night, we wanted ac for a sleep on our way home. The electric access was amazing. We actually will stay here again in the future. I do have to mention that we live in southern FL we know mosquitoes but these suckered were different. Swarmed us but I'm not sure the bit is the same. We were not scratching all night like we normally would. I don't think these mosquitoes bite the way city mosquitoes bite lol. I'd like to mention again we were there mid July and only at late night early morning. The ELECTRIC pedestal was glorious to have at a .gov campground.

It was a spot to stop for the night on our way to Key Largo. Unfortunately we arrived right a dusk and got devoured by ravenous mosquitoes 🦟 😒 . We fought them all night long inside the RV. Probably not a good spot mid June.

We stay every other month for a weekend and the sites are very nice. We particularly like the ones on the East side of the pond as there is better shade.

The campground itself was fine, the bathrooms were disgusting, there was no toilet paper the entire time we were there and no campsite host or park ranger to help for anything.

Great sites with full 50amp electricity. We filled water at the campground at arrival and dumped as we left. The location was great for visiting the park. Really little to no cell service. Quiet and the night skies were fantastic.
