Great location. Very central to the activities available in the Everglades. We were able to easily get to Shark Valley and all the walking trails.

We only stayed at Midway Campground one night; however, the campground was very nice. All of the sites were spacious and level. We are already planning a longer weekend in the future. Here's what you need to know. It is truly in the middle of the everglades. Phone reception is very low if it exists at all. The sites are electric only. They do have potable water on site that you can fill your fresh water tank. It's very convenient. Make sure you have enough food. Sounds funny but your looking at 20 miles one way in either direction to find food. That said the Oasis visitor center is close by and is very nice. There a road called "The Loop" that will also take you back to nice viewing areas. Airboat trips are available and again are about 15 to 20 miles on either side of the campground. Still, nice place to stop for a couple of days to enjoy the national park.

Grounds well maintained. The camp hosts made me feel like I was a good friend or family member of theirs.

Beautiful campground! While we were there we enjoyed going to the Oasis Visitor Center, Joanie’s Blue Crab Cafe, and Shark Valley. In the past, we’ve gone to Everglades City, which has an excellent museum about building the last section of the Tamiami Trail.
