The kayaking i did not enjoy. We kept getting stuck by hitting logs and having to dodge tree limbs. The two little rapids towards the end was fine but the first 4 to 5 miles is a constant battle. You also have to keep on paddling to ensure you make it on time to your pick up location. Would not spend the $80 dollars to go kayaking again. There are so many other amazing springs around the area to kayak or paddle board at. The camping was really nice and the swimming hole as well.

The spring was beautiful. There was a lot of people as we booked through a weekend and our area was rather noisy even during quiet hours. There’s also a LOT of spiders in the dish washing area which was spooky, but that is generally to be expected at a campsite. Other than the spring, there wasn’t much to do, but it was very nice just to laze around in our tent and relax.

Beautiful place to camp quiet and very accessible to spring and bathroom. Make sure your spray your body with lots of bugs spray specially tick they were everywhere but over all great experience

Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy nature.
We just came home with tick all over our stuff. We washed everything but three days later found one latch to my back I never noticed. Other than that make sure you spray your stuff and body at every hr

Bathroom is new but is lacking maintenance. The bathrooms were not being cleaned for 3 days while we were there, and there was no toilet paper at day 2 while we were camping.

Lots of ticks. Too many ticks. Way too many ticks. Had to cut our stay short. We camp often but have never seen anything like this. Would have appreciated a heads up from the rangers or an email ahead of our stay so we could have prepared better or cancel our reservation, thank you.

From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs for approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19, the campground is 4.5 miles west on Highway 40. The entrance is on the north side of Highway 40.
Juniper Springs Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 40, which connects to I-75 and I-95. It is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19.

General
- Campground gate is closed and locked from to . Campers who check-in after the gatehouse is closed must visit the Gatehouse the next morning to complete their check-in to their site. Failure to do so will lead to a 'no show' charge to your reservation and potential forfeiture of site.
- Camp sites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Each campsite can hold a MAXIMUM of 2 tents and 5 campers. Maximum 2 vehicles per site (campers included); extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area and will be charged $9 per vehicle, per night
- NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- No off-road vehicles allowed within the campground
- Bears and raccoons frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in immediate ejection from campground without refund.
- Dogs/pets are allowed in campground only and must be leashed and supervised at all times. No dogs/pets allowed in day-use area, bathrooms, boardwalk and canoe run.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the day-use area.We ask that guests be courteous of one another and limit floats in the swimming area to under 60 inches across. Please be aware the boardwalk remains closed due to age and hurricane damage.
- Children weighing less than 40 lbs are not allowed in rental canoes. No disposable items allowed on the canoe run (i.e., food wrappers, styrofoam coolers, cans, bottles, etc.) Only re-usable containers are allowed.
- Private canoe and kayak launches are at a fee and limited to 30 total vessels per day. Vessels must be launch BEFORE 1:00 p.m. daily. JUNIPER RUN IS NOT FOR BEGGINERS. IT IS A WILDERNESS AREA AND MECHANICAL TOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED, SO THE RUN REMAINS WILD.
