We stayed in fern loop. The sites were crowded together and noise everywhere. Most of the trails are closed. In the bath house sinks were out and showers and toilets. The whole place is run down. Unfortunately they don't enforce the quiet hours and we had loud music and people until almost 1am and the campers next to us kept turning on and running his car all night. Really a shame. And the kayak run was great but the kayaks were in horrible shape.

Swimming was great! Campsites are above average. You can enjoy the same walk at different times of the day and see the wilderness in a new light. Trails are also enjoyable. I recommend some repairs to the bridges and amphitheater.

Great private site, everything clean, beautiful springs, Jacob very helpful, as was woman who arranged our shuttle for the kayaking. A paper map at check in would be only thing I would add. Seemed a little understaffed though-Did not see anyone else working in tge entire campground until shuttle came to pick us up.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owls were so cool to go to sleep and wake up with. Thankful for the bear boxes for storage and the hot showers.

Heaven checked me in and she was AMAZING. Thank you. I bought a Juniper Springs patch, and typical of me, I left it on the counter. I went kayaking early the next morning and when I came back to my vehicle it was on my windshield, under the windshield wiper. I stopped by the office a few times to say Thank You, but she wasn't there. Appreciate the professionalism of everyone there.
On a side note, there were a lot of ticks. Make sure to prepare for that. I personally buy the strongest spray I can find and coat my clothes. I also spray it on my hair and around the bottom of my legs if exposed. I was there for 4 nights and never had one attach to me. I went to my doctor when I got home for a good tick check to be sure. All clear. I know a lot of people don't like deet, but it worked for me. Juniper Run was beautiful as always.

The campground is quiet and peaceful. The staff was helpful and the grounds were kept. It would be nice to see some of the walking trail walkways repaired.

From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs for approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19, the campground is 4.5 miles west on Highway 40. The entrance is on the north side of Highway 40.
Juniper Springs Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 40, which connects to I-75 and I-95. It is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19.

General
- Campground gate is closed and locked from to . Campers who check-in after the gatehouse is closed must visit the Gatehouse the next morning to complete their check-in to their site. Failure to do so will lead to a 'no show' charge to your reservation and potential forfeiture of site.
- Camp sites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Each campsite can hold a MAXIMUM of 2 tents and 5 campers. Maximum 2 vehicles per site (campers included); extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area and will be charged $9 per vehicle, per night
- NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- No off-road vehicles allowed within the campground
- Bears and raccoons frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in immediate ejection from campground without refund.
- Dogs/pets are allowed in campground only and must be leashed and supervised at all times. No dogs/pets allowed in day-use area, bathrooms, boardwalk and canoe run.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the day-use area.We ask that guests be courteous of one another and limit floats in the swimming area to under 60 inches across. Please be aware the boardwalk remains closed due to age and hurricane damage.
- Children weighing less than 40 lbs are not allowed in rental canoes. No disposable items allowed on the canoe run (i.e., food wrappers, styrofoam coolers, cans, bottles, etc.) Only re-usable containers are allowed.
- Private canoe and kayak launches are at a fee and limited to 30 total vessels per day. Vessels must be launch BEFORE 1:00 p.m. daily. JUNIPER RUN IS NOT FOR BEGGINERS. IT IS A WILDERNESS AREA AND MECHANICAL TOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED, SO THE RUN REMAINS WILD.
