On clear night, star-gazing is great at the clearing just SW of the Toilet in Pine Sand cg

Sites were were placed far enough apart to give privacy. Restrooms were very clean. There were lots of things to do.

This campground is very nice. The sites are spaced nicely. The bathrooms were cleaned and maintained. The shower was also large, clean with plenty of hot water. The lady at the gate was very helpful. All campers where respectful . Wish I could have stayed longer.

The campsite was ok (no water or electricity), but there were more things at the park that you can't do than things you can do. No swimming, no wading, no pets on the trails in the park (although the Florida Trial goes right by the park that you can take your pet on) no walking on the boardwalk, no drones, no alcohol, etc. In other words, no fun.

My campsite in the Hammock Fern loop was away from RVs and should have been quiet, but the noise from route 40 was quite loud at night and made it hard to sleep. The site was very nice with dappled shade and wasn't far from the bathhouse/restrooms. They are pretty well maintained and they have a dishwashing sink, which is a great convenience. They are not heated, so both days I couldn't take showers in the morning, and the water doesn't get quite hot enough. Showers in the heat of the day were OK. It was a short walk to the Hammock Fern spring head which is absolutely gorgeous in the early morning and before sunset. I was there to paddle Juniper Run, also beautiful. Juniper Springs doesn't have as much hiking/walking as Alexander Springs. Ocala National Forest is wonderful but route 40 is miserable.

We had a beautiful campsite. Large and private. The shower was cold twice during our 5 day stay. The only thing to do there was walk the Florida Trail which we did but had to drive 10-20 miles for restaurants or the Barberville Emporium and even farther to Silver Springs. There are no hookups so we used our generator and one night a neighbor came into our campsite to complain about the noise. It set up a stressful time for the rest of our stay. Even though we enjoyed our stay there because of the nice campsite and beauty of the area, we probably won’t stay there again.

The sites were nice and big. Bathrooms clean. And you can hike to many trails.

We just got back to camping after a twenty year hiatus. It was a pleasant surprise to pull up to the smiling woman at the gate house who directed us to our site. Her obvious pride in her work and of the Park made us feel right at home. Our site was spacious yet cozy and private at the same time. There was nothing more refreshing than a dip in the clear spring pool. Floating in the fresh water your mind drifts to the many who must have also enjoyed this watery blessing over the centuries. The only complaint was a couple of generators running a bit late at night.
