I got to the dock. NO INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO INDICATE THAT THIS SLIP HAS ROCKS LESS THAN 2 FEET below the surface of the water the last 4 or so feet of the slip. I had my engines as high as the jack plate goes as I always do when going into somewhere new to me. I draw less than 2 feet with the engines up like I had them. When I saw the rocky back end of the slip, I got my boat hook out and stuck it down in and could feel nothing but rocks. I carefully motored out and still nicked a rock. Fortunately no damage was done to my props or engines. You need to clearly state on the information for these slips that you CANNOT back in and also have signage stating the same thing. With the short finger pier and the fact getting off my boat at the front is not safe, we left and went to a marina.

I heard about the COE campgrounds by fluke on YouTube. This was a good location, near I95 and on our trip down to Ft. Lauderdale. I wish that the COE website was more intuitive and easier to navigate as I’m not familiar with US geography. Even a paper brochure at the campground showing all of the locations would be very helpful.

We love this small campground on the canal. There is a walking trail at the end of the RV/Tent area, you can watch the boats go by, and see them go through the locks. This time, the walkway across the lock gate wasn't available, but there's a nice nature trail on the other side. Don't miss the Corps of Engineers visitors center down at the far end of the lock area!

Had boat slip for 12 days again. We really like this place and hope to continue to visit yearly again in the winter. Staff helpful and friendly.
