We recently stayed at St. Lucie South, a beautifully landscaped campground near Stuart, FL, and had a fantastic experience. The grounds were well-maintained and lush, offering a peaceful and scenic setting to relax. One of the highlights was the nearby boat lock—really interesting to watch boats pass through, especially if you're not familiar with how they work.
The campground’s location was perfect for exploring the area. It’s just a short drive to downtown Stuart, which has a charming waterfront and several dog-friendly restaurants along the St. Lucie River. We brought our pup along and had no trouble finding spots where he was welcome.
Our favorite meal of the trip was at the Boathouse. It’s right on the water, with beautiful views and a relaxed, coastal vibe. The food was excellent, and the service was just as good. We’ll definitely be coming back!
