The Army Corp of Engineers, again, did an excellent job. Large lake without a lot of high speed boats, pull in camping, close to showers, nice staff, and plenty of privacy between sites.

Our campsite was level and clean. Great access to the water, spacious, and the campground was well maintained.

Enjoyed the stay and enjoyed the staff that worked here. You don't care much for people that don't rent spots out here on the island come out here and just sit and stare at you and see what you're doing. I believe unless they rent a spot out here. They shouldn't be allowed out here unless they walked a shoreline and stay on the shore line.

Love Ridge Road camp ground. The only complaint is that they, along with others, are closing early due to funding..........makes me wonder what their normal funding stream is being used on.......hmmmmm

Where do I begin….. before I even arrived (I was 2 days late) I received a call from the volunteers making sure I was okay! I told them that it’s been an adventure (not a great one so far) but I was still on the road and planning on getting there! I arrived to the campground and was greeted by the best volunteers ever! Our campsite (#6) was breathtakingly beautiful! Every morning I would see the volunteers make their rounds to make sure all campers were okay and safe. On day 3 we decided to try to get closer to where my son was working in Augusta but to my surprise my DEF tank had malfunctioned and I was only able to drive 5 mph. I barely made it to the dump station where I accidentally thought I had the hose hooked on tightly but found out really quick that I missed a hook and was sprayed with poop water! Almost in tears and feeling defeated, I just stood there as the volunteers drive by. They noticed my distress and came to help. I told them the issue and they jumped into action, helping me secure a new camp site and even helped me back in. There my rig and my entire family sat for another week while I had multiple mobile mechanics come fix the problem. Everyday the volunteers checked in on me and even loaned their mobile hot spot to help out! I will forever sings their praises!!! What a amazing campground to be “stuck” in!!!!! If I ever come back this way again, I will most definitely stay here again!!!!!!

Very well kept campground. The volunteers do an awesome job at keeping everything cleaned up (even the bathrooms). I have not been here in over 20 years and we came back and I have to say it is by far the best campground we have ever been to. The water view and access to water was amazing. This campground is one that should be open longer or all year. Sad what the government is doing to the COE parks.

I wish the campground had a longer season. Appears this year it will close even earlier.
