Opening weekend for the campground is usually a bit of a zoo but there was a threat of bad weather and many people cancelled their reservations. The weather stayed pretty darn good so we had a nice quiet weekend.
Like usual, somebody befouled the men's room. I don't know what it is about Sweetwater but there's always somebody doing something disgusting to the public restrooms there. Hasn't happened in our experience to McKinney, just here and McKaskey.

Had a great time, very clean facilities, bathroom/ shower area was mopped, cleaned daily. I didn't enjoy the dog in the campsite next to me batyhing all day, tied to a picnic table but that's not their fault. The site was clean, electricity and water were great, there was a fire pit and picnic table on site, ample room for my vehicle and tent.

This was a beautiful site and a well-manicured campground. Look forward to returning in the spring

The campsite locations vary enough to fit all groups. Quiet, out-of-the way sites to close to swimming or the boat ramp. The store for ice, etc. is less than a mile.

I grew up in the Canton area and I grew up enjoying the facilities at Sweetwater back when the campground with its boat ramp was open year round(closed only when the lake flooded).
I don’t understand why this campground and all others(save McKinney) on Allatoona Lake are closed from just after Labor Day until just before Memorial Day!
The staff members at the campground are great and very helpful. I just wish the Army Corps would just go back to a lot fewer rules and give the people(the real owners) a little more breathing room.

Always like staying here- clean, well maintained campground with great views of the lake. Staff is always friendly and they do a great job with this campground. Site was level and in good shape- always recommend bring some insect spray at Sweetwater, there are always a lot of ants and it's good to get ahead of them.
