What Guests Are Saying

Willis Knob Horse Camp offers a peaceful and secluded experience, with newly renovated and clean restrooms. While some horse trails were impacted by downed trees from a recent ice storm, the campground's rustic charm and ability to access the site freely are notable positives. However, improvements are needed in campsite maintenance, including electric and water functionality, as well as trail clearing.

Rain stopped and sun came out. Upper loop equestrian camp sites were just perfect for our group. Lots of mountain laurel blooming on trails above the river. A wonderful place for a weekend camp ride.

One of the trails was in very poor shape with deep washouts and where we tie the horses doesn’t drain when it rains and so we had to leave early because our horses can’t stand in water all day and night. We had fun don’t get me wrong but the safety of the horses is paramount to anything else.

We really love the layout and accommodations of this campground. Would be great to have cell service, buy Hey, we need to disconnect.

Quiet, remote campsite with electric and water hookups. Toilet (unsure if shower inside as I did not use it). Takes a little work to park rig if you have a big one (ours is 47' long) but it's possible. Twisty turny gravel road down into campsite so advise you arrive in daylight. The park's map is located in center of grounds but the map is pretty bad. Take your GPS! Once we crossed the Chattanooga River at the far end of trail, the South Carolina side of the river had GREAT maps located at trail markers. GA trail (cross river at Adline Ford) will connect to SC trail (cross back over at Earl's Ford) and make a 14 mile loop. Well worth the ride! Trails well maintained with lots of views of the river.

If you want to get away from it all it is great. Water and electric available. No sewer.
Trails are awsome and crossing the river to South Carolina was fun! Maps are not the best but signs are posted along the way.
No cell until top of the trail.

Our week-end at WKHC was great!! Some of the trails on the Ga side had trees across them ! Most could be gone around but the trails needs some major chain saw work!! Great riding and great weather!!!

Great campsites. But needs more high lines for horses. Especially at sites 1 thru 5.

Willis Knob horse camp is a great isolated campground with power hookups and water hook-ups and plenty of room for horses at the intersection of some great riding trails with access to some great views and good Trout Fishing Streams.

Bathrooms very clean. Campsite clean. There were a couple water spigots that were dripping, but they worked. Wish there was cell service at the campsite, but if you ride 30 minutes on a trail to the left of the campsite there is service and a sign.
