What Guests Are Saying

Desoto Falls Recreation Area offers clean, spacious campsites, many of which are conveniently located near the creek and hiking trails to beautiful waterfalls. Guests appreciate the well-maintained facilities and the peacefulness, particularly at night when road noise diminishes. However, some reviews mention issues with road noise from traffic, ongoing maintenance concerns for restrooms, and occasional lack of water access, which can detract from the overall experience.

We had a blast despite the rain (we left a day early but ONLY because of the rain). The park hosts were AMAZING. So friendly and informative and available. We would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

My family loved the DeSoto Falls Campground! Our campsite was perfect and beautiful! I love that it wasn't huge and there was no electricity so there was mainly tent camping. We took a short drive to Mount Yonah which was a great hike with amazing views! We had a great time and can't wait to go back!!!

It rained heavily the night before and lower and upper falls were magnificent! We stayed two nights in mid-November. The campground was beautiful! The sites are large so if you have neighbors you still have some privacy. Flushing toilets, warm showers and water supply near entrance. No electricity. The sites are well maintained, tree canopy. Turner’s Corner General store is about 7 minutes away and has top grade firewood $5/bundle, beverages 🍺 and friendly service. Ingle’s grocery store in Cleveland about 20 minutes away from camp. Central to several towns and wineries. We’ll go back!

I tried contacting Recreation.gov shortly after I checked in for a refund. It took me 45 minutes to get through the first time and they never picked up my call afterwards. I checked in that afternoon and broke camp and left by 9pm. The traffic, especially the large trucks and their jake brakes coming down the hill was too much for me to take. I wanted a refund and to date, have not heard back from these guys. Very disappointed.
