What Guests Are Saying
Doll Mountain Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites and serene views of Carters Lake. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, accommodating hosts, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for both relaxation and outdoor activities. While there are occasional concerns about access to the lake and water pressure in showers, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors eager to return.

We had a frustrating experience at this campground. We arrived late in the evening to set up our campsite. We were tent camping. The actual site upon arrival did not look anything like the site pictured online. It was a long, steep walk on a hiking path deep in the woods very far away from our car. Very inconvenient and difficult to haul gear up and down for senior citizens. It might have been okay if your were backpacking and you didn’t mind being far away from the bathrooms. I think it was site 21. So, we declined to stay there. The camp host was exceptionally kind and helpful in trying to find us alternative sites, but it was a popular time of year and the campground was full. So, we left and checked into a hotel. My suggestion is to preview the campground before arriving to make sure you are okay with the site as several of the sites were scary in my opinion. The online photos and descriptions should be updated to accurately portray what the entire sites look like and the conditions and how far away from your vehicles you would be and how steep the paths are for those whose knees wouldn’t be able to easily handle those situations. I can’t comment on the rest of the campground as we arrived in the dark and couldn’t even see the lake. The bathroom looked clean and adequate but dated. But, again, the camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Can’t fault them at all.

We love this campground especially for spring camping and early fall. Wood platforms and concrete areas for table make it great especially if you have pets.
