My favorite place to camp! Water, walking, and bike riding. Very peaceful and quiet at night.

A few trees blocking the lake view. Site is very slightly unlevel. But beautiful view of the water behind us.

We really enjoyed the views at this site. The neighbors behind you are pretty close to the site. And the site is flipped. So your front door doesn't face the water. But we enjoyed our stay!

We came and reserved a space/lot in our Camper Trailer for a few days during the week (its VERY hard and just about impossible to find ANY lots available for the weekends, as they are ALL booked and reserved out for months it seemed.) Not just here but at any of the surrounding Lake Lanier Campgrounds. Very friendly staff, felt very safe & secure as far as my own personal safety of course, but most of all for our Camper and all of our belongings. Our lot happened to be right beside the bathrooms/showers and they even had washers and dryers you can pay to use right between the mens & womens entry points to the bathroom. Wonderful environment, all of the other campers were very respectful of everyone's privacy (all other campers and their personal space) while remaining to be friendly at the same time (as far as saying "Hi/Hello" and throwing up a hand wave anytime you walk/drive by someone). Just like most other campgrounds there is a "curfew" and "quiet time" where no one is supposed to be allowed to enter/exit from 10pm-7am every day. So if you work and not just "vacationing", or have anywhere to be in between those times, I would just suggest making some sort of other arrangements. Im not quite sure how they would respond or if they would allow any exceptions ( except under emergency circumstances of course). Overall we had a great experience at Old Federal Campground, and it was not only NICER and had more RV/Camper room compared to the alternative at Fort Yargo (the first campground we visited and checked out) but it was also a few dollars CHEAPER too!! So it was a win/win for us! Watch out for the squirrels when driving, as they are NOT afraid of people/cars and will walk right up to you or run right up to and in front of moving vehicles and stop. Unfortunately, in one day there were 3 that had all become road kill from running out or towards vehicles. So sweet and cute, but a little TOO BRAVE! Lol Would definitely camp there again for sure! Recommendable!

I would have given five stars for campsite itself. Beautiful. The reason for the three stars is unfortunately there were some campsites with a lot of people making a lot of noise. Dogs barking and most of all only one dump station open. We had to leave without dumping as we would have been there for hours. People taking their time and s long line. We dumped when we got to our new location.

Best campground ever. All sites are waterfront. Large, shady, grassy. Plenty of space between sites.

Gate Keepers are sarcastic at times. Seem to want to make sure guests make sure who is in control.
