Old Federal is our favorite campground.Nice wooded grassy spots on the lake . There are a few spots that are out in the sun with no tree's. This campground fills up quickly so you have to reserve as soon as the spots open up.There is one official beach area, but you can swim or float from in many area's. There is a boat launch. The only negative was one of the bathrooms was closed all of the 2019 season (that's why I rated it a 4 instead of a 5.

I registered telling them I had a 42' motorhome. I was assigned a site that was the most difficult to get into, on a steep hill, it was too short to fit my rig on. Back passenger side dully was half off the pavement while the front driver's side tire was also on the other edge. It was the worst site I have ever been on in a COE park and I have been in many over the years. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The state park itself was beautiful, and we were so happy to have arrived at such a beautiful place after having driven all day with our camper to get there, while on a cross-country family road trip. Unfortunately, our campsite was on such a steep slope, that it would have taken an extremely long time to level out, and we were only staying for 1 night. Because they don't alter reservations on site, we ultimately decided to leave, even though we had paid for our site. We'd love to come back and try it again sometime, because there were some lovely and level campsites, but the map you use to select your site when you make your reservation doesn't indicate which sites are more or less level, and I'm not sure we want to take that chance again.
