Grass cutting neglected over the entire park. Made me worried for snakes in tall grasses that my kids may stumble upon. Also, one other suggestion…since several of our local COE parks weren’t able to open this season bc of lack of park hosts, I highly suggest advertising for hosts on Facebook work kamp groups. There are lots of folks on there looking for camp host spots seasonally in GA. It’s sad that these parks (Duckett Mill and Van Pugh) were closed this year!!

It was nice. We had some bad weather. High winds.
The camp host were very nice
The grass needs to be cut. It’s snakey around the campsites.
We have camped here for years and the grass was cut. Why have they stopped cutting it?

Grass was a little overgrown and felt a little rundown. Water front sites were very pretty. I will say that I got mixed customer service.
The camp hosts working check-in’s were so friendly and accommodating. They even worked with me switching sites because I found one to be more preferable.
Then another couple of people wearing wearing white campground staff shirts were there the rest of my stay. They made me feel like a rule breaker when indeed I had a pass and held it up for them to see as I drove back into the campground. I could clearly see them on their phones and not paying any attention that I was there. I DID STOP to show my pass. Out of impatience for their personal phone time I drove through to my site only to be met by one of those staff members that followed me in to give me a rotten attitude about showing my pass and stopping. To which I did both.
I was a camp host for two years. I know the gig can get boring but you guys should pay attention and have better attitudes. It’s a beautiful place minus the unkept landscaping. Bathrooms and laundry were great. I had a 4 year old with me and would have loved to see a functioning playground.
Also sometimes the dumpsters were overflowing with trash.

Clean bathhouses. Beautiful, large, well-situated sites on the lake, most with shade. Friendly gate attendants. The only problem with this campground is that some of the sites have steep driveways, but the pads themselves are more or less level. This is our favorite campground.
