Great place to enjoy the lake and beach area for a weekend or a two week short trip. All sites are spacious with lake view. Campground is away from the main road so it's very quiet. There are beautiful parks a few miles from the Campground also with Gainesville just a few miles away also. One of my favorite Campgrounds!

Pros: Beautiful, well established campground! Large, private campsites. Almost all campsites have lakeside views, except for maybe a handful. Boat ramp right outside campground. Quiet and peaceful. Friendly hosts.
Cons: Garbage on campsite upon arrival. Fine sand layer on campsite that gets on everything, your outdoor carpet…in your camper; much worse after it rains. Bathrooms needed attention, dirty, shower drainage issues, some tile needs to be replaced. Overflowing trash bins. Boat ramp does not seem steep enough to load/unload boat without damage to prop.

Campsite was trashed! Spent 3/4 hr cleaning it & campground host came by to take photos of mess & hauled away trash. Phoned in complaint to Calvin, Mgr. but never got a call back. Cancelled rest of reservation — never to return.

This was my first camping trip. I’m so glad it took place at Duckett Mill. We had site #42. Fantastic view of the water. Easy to back in. The site was very clean. We can’t wait to come back 🏐

The lake views form our site (#81) were stunning. There are a high number of other sites with great lake views as well. We enjoyed relaxing and biking through the campground. We lost a day fighting an infestation of small ants in our camper. Others in nearby sites also reported ant issues. So, be prepared! The staff at the gate were friendly and helpful. The campground area that is need of investment are the bath houses. There is no active ventilation to combat summer temperatures. The shower curtains in the bathhouse that I used was covered in mold and the floor trench drain was almost fully clogged and appeared not to have been cleaned out for some time. That being said, it is a beautiful campground and the rate with the America the Beautiful pass cannot be beat.

Duckett Mill has always been one of my favorite campgrounds. The reason I did not give them a five star rating this year is because bathroom cleanliness is lacking. The shower curtains are cheap and always ripping and or mildewed. I understand all of the reasons I hear all the time - pandemic, can't get help, no one wants to work. Oh well, I'm tired of hearing it too. It still doesn't get the bathroom cleaned. Life goes on. Figure it out.
