"While we were camping in site 17 at Duckett Mill, one of our friends lost his life in a boating accident at 4:30 in the afternoon of July 3rd in the cove right behind our site. There were many vehicles, including rescue, fire, and his children allowed into our area and the host on duty at the time of recovery said. "Don't worry about parking extra vehicles," We waited and grieved in disbelief as the search team looked for our friend for over four hours. After he was found and removed from the water, it was nearly 8pm.
Our pontoon was in the cove to be taken out of the lake and also the boat from which our friend lost his life had to be taken out of the lake.
There were a total of 12 in our group (six different sites) along with our friends children all grieving and gathering at site 6 and we did park our pontoon back on site 6 because we had not secured anything on the boat that could be stolen. It was on the dirt area just off of the pavement and we believed there was nothing to be harmed until daylight.
A camp official, presumed to be a host, appeared at our site at near dark saying the boat had to be moved immediately. We tried to explain what had just happened, our friend had lost his life, but he was adamant that the boat had to be moved saying that if he allowed us to leave it there he would have to also let everyone else do so.
Everyone else had not just seen their friend hauled from the water. We were in disbelief that he had no compassion whatsoever to the event that had just occurred and said unless we complied to his request he would call a ranger to get it moved.
Never before had we witnessed such an uncaring rigid disposition from a person of authority.
We moved the pontoon."

Park attendants were great, helpful and knowledgeable. Park clean. Sites shaded, many on the water and most not too close together, two dump stations. Would have been nice to have a hand drier or paper towels in the restroom.
