Check in time is to late (3pm) and they wonβt let you in the park before then. I guess itβs less of a park and more of a hotel. So if youβre planning to do anything fun on your arrival date, plan to do it somewhere else. I was literally told by the person at the guard booth to park at a nearby church and wait for 4 hoursβ¦Thatβs not how I want to spend my time off lol.

It was our first time along with another couple. We loved it even though temperatures were in the 90s everyday. We were able to put our new kayaks in the lake at our campsite. Shopping is really not that far once you learn your way around. On our one night out for a meal we went to Seneca and it's not that far either. Nice spacious campsites and all on the water. It had nice uncrowded restrooms as we were there prior to Memorial Day Weekend. We will be back.

A beautiful park. The campsites are spacious and well kept. We went to Clemson and the Duke Nuclear Power Plant, The World of Energy Visitor Center. Also, drove up to Sassafras Mountain.
The lake offers great boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming areas.
The university's experimental Fruit Research Orchards near the campground are very impressive.
