Site #48 was very spacious and level with good access to the Lake Hartwell. Campground is quiet and well maintained. The hosts are very nice. The restrooms were clean. I did not use the camp showers, so I can't comment on those. There are stacks of fire wood for sale right across the street from the gate. Purchased on the honor system. Hartwell is the closest town with everything there you would need. I hear there is a drive thru safari near by, but we did not visit. A lot of access points close to the campground to enjoy and learn about the dam. Be aware, the dam will sound an alarm before releasing water. It did sound one night at 1 am, but it was not terribly loud. I didn't hear that it was on a schedule. It seems to sound randomly and not often. It didn't go off every day. The alarm is not a deal breaker for us. We'll be back! All of the COE campgrounds on Lake Harwell are fantastic.

Watsadler is a wonderful campground with great staff. I stay here whenever I travel through Georgia, about twice a year. Lots of trees, birds, wildlife and good fishing.

The campground was wonderful. The bath houses are showing their age. We go just about every year.

The one problem I had with the campground was the fact that the shower stalls in the women's bathroom did not have any kind of locking door on them. Anyone could walk in the bathhouse, which was in a campground loop that was closed, and walk right into where you were taking a shower. Only a shower curtain was between you and anyone walking in. This made me feel unsafe. I didn't have any problem, but it made me uncomfortable enough that I probably won't return, even though the campground was lovely.
