We loved this campground. It was our first time going and didn’t realize some of the waterfront was rocky… so if you need direct water access for kids, kayaks, etc. make sure you either scout it out or ask for opinions online. We know for next time! It was quiet and perfect for how we like to camp. Our site was easy to access and roomy, even for our 39ft bumper pull! Bathhouses aren’t the best (water pressure, privacy: there was no door to the showers themselves), but they were clean! We will be back again!

Watsadler is a great little campground. The sites are situated on several peninsulas on Lake Hartwell. The sites on our loop (24-41) all have views and access to the lake. Launching a small boat or kayak is possible from the sites in the high 30s and 40-41. The sites in the low to mid 30s appeared to adjoin deeper water where larger boats could anchor.
The campground hosts were friendly and diligent. Everything was well-kept and clean. And despite the large number of children on spring break, other campers and kids were courteous and adhered to quiet hours.
The town of Hartwell is 10 minutes away with lots of restaurants, fast food, and major chain stores for hardware and groceries.
Watsadler is very hard to get into, but it’s definitely worth the effort!
