Low Gap Campground was closed an extra 2.5 months to build 2 new vault toilets. They need solar lights for night visits …..
The old bathrooms are still there ; just locked up . A few trees have been removed to make room for the new bathrooms which are in the old campsite #13. The rest of the campground is untouched ; no gravel added to camp spots , no new fire rings. The road driving in is in the best shape I have seen it in the last few years. I have been going to this campground for 45 years and it never gets old!

We have always enjoyed Low Gap. However, this past weekend a camper ran a generator all night long.
I recommend going back to a cash box instead of online reservation. That way when employees pick up the box money they can check on campers to see if anyone is abusing the quiet time.

I’m a regular visitor to this camp.
I have not noticed any signs of improvement s in years here.
The bathroom was not functioning.
Time to step it up.

Quite and secluded little spot. Cleveland is a convenient town nearby, I wouldn't recommend Helen. Some nice hiking opportunities and if you're adventurous enough there is a way to get up on the AT, that was awesome. Pretty well taken care of, we really appreciated the man that came twice during our stay to clean the toilets, he did a great job. Unfortunately I did notice people come up there just outside of the campground to a vehicle bridge and leave garbage thrown about and go up on the backcountry forest roads at night.

We had a great time camping and fishing, we caught several trout. Lot 4 was plenty big enough for our camper. We will definitely be back.
