Great Camp Ground, clean and nicely maintained. We had an excellent spot
(#41) with an amazing panoramic view of the Lake, close to the Shower/Bathroom House and also an added treat of watching a nest about a hundred yards from our banks of new Baby Ospreys leave the nest and take flight during our stay. Great place to camp.

We camped Monday -Thursday. Very peaceful campground. Our site was waterfront and in a little cove. Wasn’t ideal for swimming right there, but was easy to launch our canoe and kayaks. And was good for some fishing. We had a great time and look forward to camping here again. We were at Campsite #37

We have camped at Whitetail Ridge several times and I really wish I could give it 5 stars. Pros: Most of the sites are very large and private. Many of them are right on the water. We had good water pressure at our site. The hosts were very friendly. It was mostly shaded and there are lots of trees throughout the campground. Great for an early morning walk. The hiking trail was cleared and in good shape if you start near the boat ramp; however, it was flooded down near the lake and we had to turn back. If you like birding, there were several different species of birds at our campsite; plus it was only a short drive to Pyne Road Park where there are even more birds, including Ospreys. Now for the cons and the reason I couldn't give 5 stars: Fellow campers. I hate to give a campground a bad review because of the people that were there, but that is part of the total experience, so it has to be considered. First, the people at a nearby campsite partied very loudly for hours. The music was so loud it could be heard all over the campground. When you add in all the yelling and sing alongs, it was just ridiculous. People must leave their subdivision homes and come to a campground to act that way because someone would call the cops to them for disturbing the peace at their home. I don't know why the hosts or rangers didn't do anything about it. There is no way they couldn't hear it because it wasn't that far from the office. Second, a point was knocked off for the chihuahua attack. We were walking our small dog when this mad chihuahua comes running out of a campsite nipping at our heels. Luckily, we were able to hurriedly pick up our dog and prevent a dog fight. There again, that is not the campground itself, but people who let their dogs go unattended. If you are lucky enough to get respectful campers when you visit, I would recommend this campground.

We spend at least 2 weeks there every summer and sometimes a week in the spring and fall and we always have a great time there and the Host are always friendly and helpful...This year our son-in-law had a stroke the 2nd day we were there and the host came by our site on several occasions to check on him, once he was released from the hospital we were able to enjoy the rest of our trip especially knowing we had such caring people watching out for us..
