Andrew's Cove Campground

Nice little campground. I liked the distance between sites. I stayed at site 2. It began raining my first night there and by the next afternoon my tent pad was flooded. The rest of my site was not flooded. The water was not able to drain from the tent pad area at that site.

This campground is so close the the road, you hear vehicles all night long, especially ones who enjoy going around curves fast, or doing burnouts. The layout of the campground was great, lots of room between sites. Mine was right next to the creek. I would honestly say this campground needs a lot of work though. There was a lot of trash at my site and surrounding areas. I packed up all the trash I found at my site. Walking around the grounds you notice a lot of decay or lack of maintenance. Tables falling apart, overgrown foliage etc. This place has a lot of potential but it really needs a complete overhaul. Oh, and I had carpenter ants all over my site. I know it’s in the woods but it did make it hard to enjoy.

Nice small primitive camping. Road is a bit loud during the day, but eases at night. Overall quiet from nearby campers. Was unaware there was no trash disposal at the location.

What a great little campground. New pit toilet, clean. Sites were pretty open view to other sites. Being by the creek and access to trails was super. Pictures on web are deceiving. Sites are smaller and many have levels. Was alone most of the time and the police did a few drive thrus.

Great little forest service campground not far for Helen. Nice jumping off spot to explore the area. Could hear some road noise (we were at site 4) but things quieted down after dark. Overall a really relaxing stay next to the creek. Would stay again.

Nice little campground. I was afraid the road noise would be worse but it’s actually better than Desoto Falls (except for campsite 1). Good spacing between campsites. The creek was a nice touch… but not deep enough for fishing.

A rv'er decided they needed a generator all night and their dog to bar incessantly all night in conjunction.

I delt with it fine enough.

Nice place, just have to watch out for the poison sumac.

Bring your own toilet paper

Avoid campsite 1 at all costs. The fire ring is in the corner, sunk into the dirt and barely usable. There’s no lamp hook like other sites have.

I cleaned out the fire pit to make it usable but it’s not conducive for sitting around a fire.

Accessing the site by car is sketchy with a high clearance. The roadway droops severely and only only very carefully planned entrance will keep you without bottoming out.

There’s lot of road noise. Lot of headlights. It’s close to the road.

The water drowns out a little but not much.

Overall, with the exception of the new pit toilets the camp feels neglected and forgotten about. I was not stay there again nor would I recommend it.
