We have been visiting Lake Rabun Beach for more than 20 years. We have always loved the peace and quiet, the beauty, and all the activities available in the area. These days, the spot is better than ever. The campground hosts are incredible at keeping things in order and spit-spot. Thank you so much and we look forward to our return to our favorite campground.

Book it!!! Our family recently visited this campground and absolutely loved our stay! Site 31 was perfect, clean site overlooking the creek. Our kids said it is their new favorite campground! The roads are paved for bike riding, which was perfect! There is a nice trail only a half mile away where you can hike to see a beautiful waterfall. The lake was also a hit with a dock in the middle. The hosts were very sweet and courteous upon arrival and leaving. We are already looking forward to visiting again in the near future and will be sure to recommend to family and friends.

Rabun Beach campground is a great place with a lot to be improved. Some improvements have been made. But unfortunately are not to my liking. Example handicapped and child proof campfire rings, similar to a trash burning barrel, are now on many sites. Would be ok if they left the traditional low fire rings too. Or made a rock ring fire place.
The reservation system is horrible , no map of the campground, just some generic grid map.
I had made a reservation for a camp site weeks in advance. Days before leaving I received a call that the camp site was un available due to power issues. I had to cancel my trip and make reservations for 10 days later. Powered camp sites are at a premium here and fill up with weekend warriors every weekend. Which is good unless you are camping during the week and want to extend your stay. If you want to extend your stay with out internet service, via phone, you are in for a horribly long experience. It took over four hours to get through to recreation .gov. You call and they say the wait is 20 minutes after 20 minutes you are disconnected . Call again same thing this went on 5-6 times. Finally got a message saying leave your number someone will call you back. They did. But had to transfer me to someone else to make a payment. Good thing I am retired and have some precious time to waste.
Back before FIND took over it was first come first served with all sites at this campground, which was great and needs to be back.
On a positive note, the camp hosts are nice and the showers and restrooms are very clean.

Staff all very friendly. Bathrooms clean, men's restroom has urinal and 1 toilet 1 shower that I thought was a handicap stall but realized it was the shower. Women's had 2 stalls and 1 shower the same as men's wife thought it was a handicap stall as well. 2nd part has 2 but 1 isn't close to anyone but 60-65 sites. The park being delayed in opening is still needing cleaned up around some sites. Lots of downed trees and rough roads. You can tell they are working to clean up but just a lot to do. The beach access isn't close enough to comfortably walk with anything. It's across the road and about .5-.75 mile from the loop 2 area that has the power hook-ups. There is parking at beach area and has a boat ramp. Kayaking on this section is nice since boats are supposed to be idle sped only. COVID has effected the local restaurants and businesses general store down the road was not open while there Mid July Sat-Mon.
