Overall, we had a great experience at Morganton Pointe and definitely plan to return! We’ll be keeping an eye out for a waterfront site next time.
The campground was clean, and the bathrooms were some of the nicest I’ve ever experienced at a campsite. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and they even provided some extra activities for the kids.
Site 28 could use a little TLC. If you have small children, be aware that there are quite a few exposed roots and other tripping hazards, and the site itself is fairly steep. A small or medium-sized tent would probably work best here. Also, be sure to bring metal stakes, as the ground is very hard and gravelly.
The location is great, too. Downtown Blue Ridge is only about 15 minutes away, and tubing on the Toccoa River is about 20 minutes from the campground. There’s also a brand-new Morganton General Store that just opened right outside the campground. The owner is awesome, and they have a great selection of camping supplies, groceries, and grab-and-go food, which is super convenient if you forgot something or don’t feel like cooking.
