We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Morganton Point!! The hosts were all so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in tent site A and it was perfect! Right near the parking lot so we didn’t have to trek our things far. It is also right on the water where the sunrises are gorgeous! We’ve stayed at many Forest service campgrounds and this one was very impressive. The bathrooms were clean, warm, and not crowded. We can’t wait to come back. It’s the perfect base camp to explore the area!

We spent six nights on site 9. It is considered a group site and is a little more expensive than some of the other sites. It is a pull through site and has great access to the lake. The site was a bit tricky to get into with our 30 ft travel trailer. It was also a little bit of work to get it level but we did manage. We noticed that there were several sites that could be a bit of a challenge due to either backing up into them or down into them. It appears that once you are on the site it's level it's just getting into it that could be the problem. This particular site had electric and water available and there is a dump station within the park for you to use. The park has two bath houses, and it appears the newer one is closest to this site. This newer bath house was very clean and spacious. All of the staff that we interacted with were helpful and friendly. They offered ice and firewood for purchase. The campground is about 15 minutes from the town of Blue Ridge. They did not offer a laundry facility here but there was a nice laundromat in town.

We camped at Campsite #14 which is at a beautiful location. It borders the lake and is a nice distance from the showerhouse. The facilities are well kept and the staff are nice. The campsites are spacious with a picnic table, tent pad, and a nice fire ring. We really enjoyed are stay here!
