A lovely and quiet, wooded park with views of the water.
This park is from a previous era of smaller rigs. Our 30ft Class A felt cramped moving around. Paved narrow roads. Gravel sites with fire rings and picnic tables. Water/power on most sites. Dump station on site. The sites on the spur road with sites 24-37 are all back in sites that are angled to the road. To get back out you are forced to drive the length of the narrow, winding, poorly maintained paved road to a small circle at the end and then drive back down this same road.
Most of the sites are unlevel. We stayed on site 27 and 12. On both sites we were at max extension on our front jacks to achieve near level.
We had no OTA channels, but Verizon and Tmobile signals were good.
Two modern shower houses, the on near 27 is older and smaller. The central one near 16 larger and nicer. Clean and well maintained with non adjustable almost hot push button for 30 seconds water.
A couple restaurants in the nearby hamlet of Morganton. 7 miles into Blue Ridge, a nice little town with good shopping. I would recommend the Rum Cake Lady Cuban restaurant if you go.

Dumpster service came between 2:30 and 3:30 AM Friday and Monday morning (yes, I said AM) and it sounds as if a bomb is going off. Not sure why that is accepted by the campground manager.

Lovely location on the lake though we were pretty far from the bathrooms. Some of the nicest bathrooms with hot showers. Host was helpful.

Very nice location and campground. Kayaking on Lake Blue Ridge is amazing. Day use area with beach wasn’t open just yet but looked nice as well. RD and the other host staff were wonderful. Sites are a bit dated, and roads could use some repaving, but overall we will definitely go back.

Unfortunately, we got rain during our visit, but the facility and restrooms were so clean! Great little area and pretty quiet the whole visit!

We loved Morganton Point. My son loved being able to walk from our campsite to the lake to fish. The bath houses were spotless and the sites were big and had a nice fire ring. The campground was very quiet and peaceful up until our last night there. We called the after hours number twice, but the camp host only came out once, so it made for a very long night for us and our kids having to listen to their partying and extremely foul language being used. The campground is close to town, yet secluded enough to not make you feel like you are. We enjoyed riding the Blue Ridge Scenice Railway as well as visiting Mercier Orchards and horseback riding in the mountains. We will definitely return!

Campers are able to utilize the day use area for free, but if you have a vehicle parked in the day use parking lot then you have to pay the day use fee. You can be dropped off at the day use area and park at your campsite if you like. |
