Camping was excellent! Weather was cooperative if not too warm for November. Bugs were still active due to mild temps. Many in our party suffered lots of bites. Not the fault of nature, but being a little ill prepared.
Trail was well maintained for the hike in to Stafford Beach Camp. Beach was lovely and start gazing was spectacular.
Wishing that hammocks would be allowed again as long as proper tree protections are made, but it was not a damper to the trip.

Absolutely adore Cumberland Island in November. The weather varies, but this year we had amazing sunny weather. Love the 'bear' boxes for food. My kids wish we could go back to having hammocks at Stafford campground, but otherwise, we wouldn't change a thing!

This was a phenomenal trip. With Spanish moss, wild horses, and castle ruins, Cumberland is like a fairytale setting. There is a well to get fresh water, but be aware that you still need to filter it & there will be a strong sulfur flavor (some in our group brought flavored powders to help with that) When you go, make sure that you pack long-sleeves, pants, some sunglasses, and a buff or bandana, even in the summer. The sand gnats are EVERYWHERE and there are so many of them.
Though we were in a wilderness area on an island without cell service, it never felt like we were far from help if we desperately needed it. I highly recommend going to Cumberland for any level of camping you're looking for!

Due to govt shutdown, we were not able to go. It’s been 3 weeks and I’ve not received a refund

With the shutdown, the ferries not running, and with no way to get to the island, I expected to be notified that I would get a full refund for my camping fees, but instead no refund was offered. I was not updated about the status of the park or the camping facilities. I guess I should have swam over to camp.

Everything was great. I have no complaints at all. The new bath house is wonderful, there were no issue with any of the facilities. Campsite was clean. Volunteers were polite and helpful.

Cumberland Island was amazing! Highly recommend Sea Camp for campers. Nice bathrooms, cold water showers, and even sinks for washing other items. The only thing I didn't like was the inability to rent bikes on the island. For campers, managing camping equipment and a bicycle from St. Marys isn't efficient. We missed seeing alot of things because it just would've taken too long to walk (10+ miles one way) and we didn't have access to bikes. I would love to see that come back.
