What Guests Are Saying
R. Shaefer Heard campground offers well-maintained, spacious sites with beautiful lake views, ample privacy, and friendly staff, making it a favorite for many visitors. The location is convenient, with easy access to shopping and activities, and the facilities are generally clean. However, some guests noted issues with rude staff on certain days and outdated bathrooms, along with occasional pest problems. Overall, it is regarded as a fantastic place to camp and relax.

The campsites were nice. We had a waterfront site that had a concrete pad and was level . The reason for our low review is because the restrooms and showers were not very clean and they need to be updated. Also, the number of toilets and showers did not seem adequate for the number of sites.

Staff is always great. Park is clean and tidy. Lake is beautiful at every angle. Never realized how much light pollution I was getting even in some "remote" locations until I camped here. PITCH BLACK, milky way is beautiful.

The campground is well maintained. Campground hosts, Leah and James Hardy, are very friendly and helpful. Go to Hunters Pub for an excellent dinner and an unforgettable experience.
