R. Shaefer Heard campground offers well-maintained, spacious sites with beautiful lake views, ample privacy, and friendly staff, making it a favorite for many visitors. The location is convenient, with easy access to shopping and activities, and the facilities are generally clean. Great location on the lake! Our pull through site was a little tight for our 26 foot Travel Trailer but the site set up was good.
The water was down at West Point but this offered a different perspective to the lake.
We were still able to Kayak and had numerous opportunities to walk the expanded shoreline.

We stayed at Site 83 and it was very narrow and steep to back into. The site was covered in ants and ended up in bed with me one night, about 200 of them. I informed the attendant upon departure and she stated that she informs campers to spray bug spray upon arrival, other than that just said sorry. The site did have a good view of the water and it was fairly private. Ill go back just not site 83 or those in close proximity to it.

As usual a great experience. The CG is always clean and well maintained. Staff is there if you need anything and courteous. Lake is way down, not sure why.
