Site #34 was well maintained. The only problem we experienced was it was very difficult to get into the water with the drop off from the shore.

The camping spaces were spacious, but fairly damp when the lake level is high. Bathroom and shower facilities could use updating.

We had a great time on our first camping trip! Just some tidbits for others coming to this site though, we did have a yellow jacket attack our first night, they had made a home in the stairs leading to the lake and didn’t come attack us until we had been going up and down them for a while, we sprayed them but they could return. The sun does beat down on the area from about 11 until 7 so bring a extra way to have shade because it gets hot fast and we saw what could be the largest wild snake (Red Bull can size in thickness or more) I have ever seen in my life going from the bushes across the stairs to the right but it kept moving thankfully, I couldn’t tell the kind but just be aware. Also there is a sweet raccoon that will come eat any and all snacks left out, including all your s’mores supplies lol! Overall it is a good site if you are prepared for the sun, keep an eye out for snakes in the brush along the bank and be aware of the yellow jackets possibly coming back to the stairs. The driveway is very steep also. Attendants are very kind and did call a park ranger to help us with the yellow jackets. First time camping with lots of memories! Can’t wait to return!

Very nice campground, spacious sites, some totally shaded, some directly on the water. Well maintained and very quiet. Places nearby for shopping and dining.
